Debian libpurple0 broke Pidgin

Problem:

Just did an upgrade and it removed both of those and now no longer able to install, may be related to debian libpurple0 pidgin broke package?

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
pidgin : Depends: libpurple0 (>= 2.8.0) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: perlapi-5.18.2 but it is not installable
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

Solution:

# apt-get update && aptitude install perl-base pidgin rxvt-unicode-256color
